Wine is that moment when the day finally slows down.

It's the first sip after a long, stressful day.
The glass you pour on holiday when you have nowhere else to be.
The bottle you open when friends come over and dinner turns into a three-hour conversation.

Wine has a way of making us slow down and pay attention, to the food, the people around us, and the moment we're in.

But how often do we actually stop and pay attention to what's in the glass?

There are hundreds of aromas and flavours in wine, shaped by the grape, the place it comes from, how it's made and how it's aged.

And suddenly, that glass of wine you've been enjoying for years becomes a whole lot more interesting.

What if you could learn to notice it?

What You’ll Discover

Your nose knows more than you think: Using Le Nez du Vin (the Nose of Wine), you will uncover the aromas hiding in your glass.

Wine is more than “wine”: Explore how grape varieties, terroir, winemaking and ageing create completely different aromas and flavours.

Taste with a little more attention: Experience guided wine tastings and discover how different wines express themselves in the glass.

Play your way into knowing wine: Compete in aroma challenges, make associations and see if your nose gets it right.

And then… taste wine differently: Because once you know what to look for, every glass becomes a little more interesting.

The Host

Sophie grew up in a family that loved wine. Her father had an impressive wine cellar, filled largely with bottles from Bordeaux, so wine was always part of the family table.

Living in South Africa gave her the chance to discover the New World of wine and along the way, she noticed something: so many people enjoy wine but feel uncomfortable talking about it.

The Nose of Wine is not about knowing all the answers. It's about learning to trust your senses, discovering what you like, and enjoying the process of figuring it out.
