Women-Only Cape Town Wine Experience
South Africa · Wine
8 Days
$3,300
Limited to 10 women
Oct 31 - Nov 7, 2026
I lived in South Africa for seven years. During that time, I went back to the Cape and the Winelands fifteen times, maybe more. Long weekends, week-long trips. I'm still discovering new places.
The wines are extraordinary, a winemaking tradition the French brought over in the 17th century, grown in soil that does something completely its own with it. The sunsets. The mountains. A particular kind of quiet that I've never quite found anywhere else.
This is a place I keep coming back to. I want to share it properly.

What to Expect
Eight days in the Winelands, and you'll never look at a wine list the same way again. Mornings tasting, pairing, and blending with experts who make it genuinely fun. Afternoons are yours: Cape Town, its region, or just relaxing
❋ The Region
Six South African vineyards made the 2025 World's 50 Best list. Two are part of this experience. Powerful Cabernets, coastal Pinot Noir, old-vine Chenin Blanc, and Pinotage, all within an hour of each other.
❋ The Group
Women-only, ten guests maximum. Small enough that you'll actually get to know everyone, large enough that you're not stuck with the same two people. Real conversations, and connections that last well beyond the trip.
❋ The Experience
This isn't a course. No exams, no pressure to memorise. You'll develop a genuine feel for wine, the kind that comes from drinking good bottles slowly, in good company, with people who love talking about it.
❋ What You Leave With
A wine journal. A bottle you blended yourself. But mostly a shift in how you see wine, as something you actually understand. You'll walk into any restaurant, any dinner party, and know exactly what to say.
Day by Day
-
Your airport transfer takes you straight to a 4-star hotel in the heart of Cape Town. Drop your bags, take in the city, and meet the women you'll share the next days with over a welcome dinner.
-
Your first session with your wine educator covers the story of wine: how grapes become wine, what makes South Africa one of the most exciting wine countries in the world. Afternoon off. You can decide to explore the city, visit the V&A Waterfront, hop on the red bus, or just relax at the hotel.
-
Morning session on white wines and Cap Classique, South Africa's answer to Champagne. You'll taste through Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and sparkling wines, learning what makes each distinctive. Afternoon completely yours.
-
Guided e-bike ride through the Stellenbosch vineyards. Your guide walks you through the varietals growing in the ground and why this valley produces the wines it does. You'll taste exceptional wines at two wine estates. Back in Cape Town by the afternoon.
Dinner at a wine bar in Cape Town with the Wanderphi wine aroma game: fun, competitive, no wrong answers.
-
Direction Hermanus for a day packed with adventures. First, whale watching: close enough to the boat that you'll actually feel it. Lunch in Hermanus by the sea, then wine tasting in the afternoon at a Top 50 World Estate. Back in Cape Town by the end of the afternoon.
-
Morning on the reds: Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, Shiraz, red blends. How to identify and pair them. Afternoon off. Relax, visit Constantia, the birthplace of wine, or go to a spa. The afternoon is yours.
-
Your hero day. A morning at a winery where you blend your own bottle under expert guidance: you choose the varietals, the ratios, design your own label. You leave with a bottle made with your own hands. In the evening, enjoy the farewell dinner in Cape Town.
-
Most flights depart in the evening, so the day is yours. Rest, explore, or share a last glass on the terrace. Airport drop-off in the afternoon.
4-Day Kruger Extension - From $1,600
On Day 1, you fly to Nelspruit (roughly 2 hours), have lunch on arrival, and head straight into Kruger for your first afternoon game drive before dinner and overnight at the guesthouse.
Days 2 and 3 are full days inside the park, early starts, lunch at one of the camps, back around 16h each evening.
Day 4 is a morning flight back to Johannesburg in time for your onward departure.

FAQs
Who is this trip for? Do I need any wine knowledge?
1
This trip is for women who travel to actually experience somewhere, not just see it. If you enjoy wine and want to understand it better, you're in the right place. No need for prior knowledge.
Is South Africa safe for women?
2
Is it risk-free? No. But neither is Paris or London. I lived in South Africa for 6+ years, travelled alone, went out, and never had a serious incident. On the trip, we'll pick you up at the airport, and I'll be with you the whole time. Any questions before you go, ask.
Is travel insurance required?
3
Yes, it's compulsory. At minimum you need coverage for medical expenses including emergency repatriation. We also strongly recommend coverage for cancellation, curtailment, personal liability, and lost luggage. You'll need to submit your insurance details before joining the group.
Will the trip definitely run?
4
This trip requires a minimum of 6 women to run. You'll receive confirmation on or before July 31st, 2026.
Can I book with a friend?
5
Yes. If you'd like to share a room, you and a friend can book together for $5,800
